My Very First Blog Post

My name is Stefanie. I'm 35 years old and I live in North Carolina. By day, I'm an Executive Assistant. By night, I'm all things book media: #BookTube, #Bookstagram, #BookTwitter, and #BookTok.

Except on Monday nights. On Monday nights you can find me on Twitch: https://www.twitch.tv/savevsgames streaming D&D where I play the rogueiest bard that ever rogued: Myra.

A true extroverted introvert, I also pass my time knitting and crocheting things like this:

So what, you may ask, is this blog about?

I plan on covering three things in this blog: books, self care, and travel.

Books are the forefront of my platform. Since I graduated college almost a decade ago, books have not been a daily part of my life. When doing some reevaluating of my priorities during COVID, I realized that they needed to be. That's when I got into BookTube, and the rabbit hole started there.

Soon, I found myself on Bookstagram, BookTok, BookTwitter, and starting this blog! The whole purpose is for me to rediscover my love of reading and using reading as a form of self care.

See what I did there? ~.^

Self care is something I've struggled with...pretty much since adulthood. I was diagnosed a few years ago with clinical anxiety and depression. Until my diagnosis, I had been self medicating with some very unhealthy coping mechanisms that I'm still struggling to change.

I want this blog to be a place where I can try new techniques and tools to help me on my self care journey. Hopefully, by documenting that journey, I might be able to help someone that struggles with the same things I do.

I also plan on using this blog to document my travels. I don't travel a lot, but one of the goals I've set for myself is to travel more. I just got back from a small trip to Myrtle Beach and have two trips planned for 2022 so far.

If you want to follow me on this journey, please subscribe to this blog, and follow my socials. You can find the links on my homepage.

If you have any book recommendations or self care tips you'd like to see me read/try, please leave me a comment!
